Grant Murdoch joins Pursuit to promote Sonic software solution

Grant Murdoch, the former UK and Ireland sales director at French jewellery brand Les Georgettes, has joined software and EPoS supplier Pursuit, to help promote its latest Sonic software solution.

Murdoch, who has over 12 years’ experience in the jewellery and watch industry, has also worked for brands including Calvin Klein Watches and Jewellery and Skagen.

In his new role, Murdoch will draw on his vast experience with leading industry brands to liaise directly with suppliers as Pursuit’s latest software solution, Pursuit Sonic, gathers pace in the trade.

His new role will span a variety of disciplines to ensure suppliers and brands are well-versed in the capabilities of Pursuit Sonic and understand how best to use the cloud-based software solution once they are subscribed.

Commenting on the new role, Murdoch explained: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to work in a new facet of our industry and use my connections, skills and past experiences to help suppliers access sales data and monitor sales performance remotely and in real-time.

“Having worked in a fast-paced sales environment and considering current Covid-19 restrictions, I know the benefits of being able to propose and accept orders digitally. Pursuit Sonic is an exciting solution for suppliers and retailers alike and I look forward to showcasing its potential to the trade.”

Mike Burns managing director Pursuit, added: “Grant is ideally placed to support suppliers who are desperately seeking new sales solutions in the midst of Coronavirus restrictions. His experience working with independent retailers, developing wholesale accounts, and managing brands is a real asset to Pursuit Sonic and we look forward to continuing its momentum in the trade.”

Over the next few months, Murdoch will collaborate with suppliers to enhance their familiarity with the Pursuit Sonic Supplier Link – a method of bringing retailers and suppliers closer together to encourage more streamlined working relationships in the digital space.

By subscribing to Sonic and downloading the free app, sales professionals can see what stock their retailers have and manage timely reorders; track best-sellers, fast-selling lines and sell-through to offer more tailored product suggestions; and place orders online or through the Sonic app to reduce lead times and minimise the need for regular visits.

Suppliers can access a free three-month trial period to test the productivity of Sonic for themselves. They will then be invited to continue with the service via a monthly paid subscription model, starting from £33 per month.

There are two core elements of the Supplier Link: a Supplier Product Database and a Supplier Sales System. The former functions as an online store, allowing retailers to select products from their existing suppliers or new suppliers to buy and upload into their stock control system.

By doing this, time-strapped independent retailers benefit from the immediate transfer of product descriptions, RRP information and images to their system and/or ecommerce website.

The Suppliers Sale System allows subscribed suppliers to review their products by customer, suggest new products their customers may benefit from, and assess a customer’s current stockholding. Based on this data, suppliers can suggest reorders, which the customer can agree and confirm. The Sonic Supplier App will allow on-the-road sales reps to stay connected no matter where they are via tablet or mobile.
